Polls

The Polls page lets Game Masters create quick polls so the party can vote on campaign decisions, session scheduling, storyline choices, or anything else that needs group input.

Polls are displayed in reverse‑chronological order (newest first) and are paginated (10 per page, up to 50 total). Each poll has a timed deadline after which it automatically closes and becomes read‑only.

Tip: Combine polls with the End Early feature to get fast answers: create a short-duration poll, then close it once everyone has voted rather than waiting for the timer.

Creating a Poll

GM only

Only Game Masters can create polls. Click the "Create Poll" button to open the creation dialog.

  • Question (required): up to 500 characters. This is what players will vote on.
  • Options (required): between 2 and 10 choices for voters. Each option can be up to 200 characters.
  • Duration : choose from preset durations — 15 minutes, 1 hour, 6 hours, 1 day, 3 days, or 7 days. The poll closes automatically when the time expires.

Once submitted, the poll is published instantly and appears at the top of the polls list for all campaign members.

Voting on a Poll

Any campaign member (including the GM) can vote on an open poll. Each player gets exactly one vote per poll — once submitted, your vote is locked and cannot be changed.

  1. 1Find an open poll (indicated by a green badge with remaining time).
  2. 2Select your preferred option using the radio buttons.
  3. 3Click "Submit Vote" to cast your vote.
  4. 4Results are revealed immediately: percentage bars, vote counts, and a checkmark next to your choice.

Tip: You can see the current vote count before voting, but full results (percentages and per‑option counts) are only shown after you've voted or the poll has closed.

Viewing Results

After voting or once a poll closes, you'll see the full results:

  • Percentage bars for each option — the winning option is highlighted with a gradient.
  • Vote counts and percentages next to each option.
  • A checkmark icon next to the option you voted for.
  • "You voted for: [option]" shown at the bottom of the results.
  • Total vote count displayed.

Ending a Poll Early

GM only

Game Masters can end any open poll early by clicking the "End Early" button on the poll card. A confirmation dialog will appear since this action cannot be undone.

Once ended early, the poll is immediately closed. Players who haven't voted yet will only be able to see the results. The poll badge will change from the green time‑remaining indicator to "Ended Early".

Open vs. Closed Polls

Polls have two visual states to help you quickly identify which ones still need your vote:

Open

Purple left accent border, green time‑remaining badge. You can vote if you haven't already.

Closed

Muted styling with a "Closed" or "Ended Early" badge. Results are read‑only.

The countdown timer on open polls updates automatically, showing days, hours, or minutes remaining depending on how much time is left.
